Making science understandable, meaningful and relatable

About
Darlene

I’m a science writer who gets thrills asking scientists questions about complicated research so that I can explain it in ways that my grandaughters can understand and be inspired. I have had the opportunity to learn amazing things, particularly about the ocean.

I’ve gone to sea on research vessels six times and appreciate what it takes to get good data. I’ve written three books, too many articles and website content to count, and produced videos to supplement the written word.

I welcome conversations with fellow writers, scientists, or anyone who wants to follow their dream, which I have done.
